Shipping & Returns
After each batch of product launch, we produce small batches to eliminate as much waste as possible.
We use *EMS for worldwide shipping, and Japan Post office for domestic deliveries.
*Express Mail Service (EMS) is the fastest international mail service in Japan for sending merchandise simply and conveniently to over 120 countries and territories worldwide run by Japan Post.
Once your product is ready for dispatch, we'll notify you via email with your tracking details, allowing you to track your product's journey to you.
Shipping times:
- Japanese customers- Orders will arrive next 2 - 3 working day following dispatch.
- Rest of World customers- Orders should be with you within 5 - 10 working days after dispatch.

Customs, Clearance & Duties Fees:
As a small business we are unable to cover the cost of any customs, clearance or duties fees and so must be paid for by the customer.
Returns:
We spend months making one product the very best it can be. Together with our factory, we strive to produce our products to the highest quality. Hopefully, that means we'll have made a products you love. But if there's any reason you'd like to return your jacket, we accept returns within 8 days of delivery. Read on for the finer details. *Please* include a note with your name & order number inside the return. Without this your exchange / refund will take longer to process.
International Returns:
If you are sending your product back from outside of Japan, please clearly mark the parcel as a 'Customer Return'. Otherwise, the return will be charged import duties and this fee will be deducted from your refund.
Refunds:
To be eligible for a refund, your jacket must be returned in unworn condition and in its original packaging. You must return the product to us within 8 days of its delivery to you. Your return must be fully tracked, with tracking details sent to us at utogariajapanstudio@gmail.com, along with your reason for the refund, order number, and full name.
Exchanges:
As we make to order, we can't promise an exchange will be possible, but the earlier you ask us, the better your chances will be. Please start by sending us an email with your original order details and stating what you'd like to swap for.
If the alternate size or colour is available we will complete your exchange. If that's not possible, we will make a refund excluding shipping, customs and import duties. For international exchanges, we will need to charge shipping costs for replacement products, as a small business we are unable to cover this cost.
Please include a note with your name & the products you'd like to swap for, so we can process your exchange as quickly as possible.
The Small Print
As a small business, we cannot cover the cost of return postage, so we request that you use tracked postage when sending items back. Once a returned product is received and inspected, refunds will be processed within 4-5 business days. We will inspect returns to ensure products haven't been worn and are in good condition. If a return does not meet our standards, we will contact you directly via email. If a product is returned in unsellable condition, no refund will be issued, and if it requires professional cleaning, the fee will be deducted from any owed refunds. While this scenario has never occurred, we include these details for transparency.
